Teflon PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a high molecular weight polymer and one of the most versatile plastics known to man.

Style 1500 virgin PTFE sheet can handle virtually all chemicals in the 0-14 pH range with the exception of molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. It is suitable for service at temperatures from the cryogenic range up to 500°F.

This style is particularly recommended for applications in the food and beverage industry where high purity materials are required. It is also used where contamination or discoloration of flow media cannot be tolerated.

25% Glass-filled Teflon

Glass-filled Teflon (PTFE) sheet is filled with 25% glass fibers by weight. The filled material significantly reduces cold flow and creep and increases wear resistance compared to unfilled PTFE sheet. It can handle a very broad range of chemicals with the exception of molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. This style is suitable for service at temperatures from the cryogenic range up to 500°F.  This sheet is particularly recommended for applications in the industrial and process industries where high purity materials are not required.  It is more economical than virgin PTFE sheet and the physical properties are only somewhat less than those of the virgin PTFE.

Mechanical Grade Teflon Sheet

Mechanical grade PTFE sheet can handle virtually all chemicals in the 0-14 pH range with the exception of molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. It is suitable for service at temperatures from the cryogenic range up to 500°F. This sheet is particularly recommended for applications in the industrial and process industries where high purity materials are not required. It is more economical than virgin PTFE sheet and the physical properties are only somewhat less than those of virgin PTFE.

Expanded Teflon Sheet

Quimflex SH gasket sheet is manufactured by expanding 100% virgin PTFE using a proprietary process that produces a uniform and highly fibrillated microstructure with equal tensile strength in all directions. The resulting product exhibits characteristics significantly different than conventional PTFE sheet. This style is much softer and more flexible than regular PTFE sheet and thus conforms easily to irregular and rough surfaces. In addition, the material is easier to compress and minimizes creep and cold flow.

APPLICATION / SERVICE

Quimflex SH is an all purpose gasket sheet that can replace all other types of PTFE sheet. It will seal all aggressive chemicals over the entire 0-14 pH range except for molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. Made from 100% virgin PTFE, it not only resists chemical attack, but it will not contaminate or discolor end products. These industries currently use expanded PTFE sheet:

·  Distillers

·  Petrochemical

·  Food and Beverage

·  Pharmaceutical

·  General Chemical

·  Power Generation

·  Iron and Steel manufacturing

·  Pulp and Paper

·  Marine

Expanded Teflon Joint Sealant

Expanded Teflon joint sealant is produced by expanding 100% virgin PTFE into a highly fibrillated structure which exhibits characteristics significantly different than conventional PTFE. The expanded PTFE is much more flexible than regular PTFE and thus conforms easily to irregular and rough surfaces. In addition, the expanded material is easier to compress and exhibits excellent resistance to creep and cold flow. This style of joint sealant is supplied as a continuous tape with a self-adhesive backing strip to facilitate easy installation.

APPLICATION / SERVICE

This joint sealant is soft and marshmallow-like, allowing it to readily conform to and seal flanges with irregular and damaged surfaces. Because it is composed of 100% PTFE, it can handle virtually all chemicals in the 0 - 14 pH range and will not contaminate flow media. It has no smell or taste. It is neither contaminating nor toxic and it fulfills the FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 Perfluorocarbon Regulations.

The versatility of this style is finding new applications everyday in the process industries and the OEM market.

This style is recommended for the following sealing applications:

·  Steel pipe flanges

·  Heat exchanges

·  Manhole and handhole covers

·  Glass-lined pipe flanges

·  Fiber glass reinforced vessels

·  Ceramic joints

·  Fiber glass pipe flanges

·  Pump housing flanges

·  Ventilation ducts

·  Plastic pipe flanges

·  Compressor housing flanges

·  Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

·  Fume ducts

·  Turbine cases

·  Water supply systems

·  Concrete lids

Expanded Teflon Tape

Expanded Teflon tape is produced by expanding 100% virgin PTFE into a highly fibrillated structure which is softer and more flexible than regular PTFE and thus conforms easily to irregular and rough surfaces. In addition, the expanded material is easier to compress and exhibits excellent resistance to creep and cold flow. Teadit 24BB gasket tape is supplied as a continuous tape with a self-adhesive backing strip to facilitate easy installation.

APPLICATION / SERVICE

This stripping easily seals flanges with rough or irregular surfaces and requires less bolt torque than other gasket materials. It is particularly suited for sealing glass lined and plastic flanges. Made from 100% virgin PTFE, this style can be used to seal all aggressive chemicals over the entire 0 to 14 pH range, except for molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine. It will not contaminate or discolor flow media and it is suitable for FDA service. It has no smell or taste. It is neither contaminating nor toxic and it fulfills the FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 Perfluorocarbon Regulations.

The following industries commonly use expanded Teflon gasket tape:

·  Pulp and Paper

·  Petrochemical

·  Food and Beverage

·  Pharmaceutical

·  Distillers

·  General Chemical
